Each year, the community of Elk Grove Village nominates and recognizes manufacturers for excellence in Community Support, Sustainability, and Innovation. For 2017, the Expo introduced a new award: Industrial Development of the Year. The following companies have proven to be 'Beyond Business Friendly' by not only manufacturing exceptional products but also being a valuable asset to the Elk Grove Village community.
Industrial Development of the Year - MC Machinery Systems, Inc.
New this year is the Industrial Development of the Year Award. The first ever to accept this award is MC Machinery. MC Machinery, the machine building division of the Japan-based Mitsubishi Corporation, constructed a state-of-the-art, 124,000-square-foot Midwest headquarters equipped with corporate offices and showrooms. The headquarters employs 200 employees.
Excellence in Community Support - eWorks Electronic Services
Representing Excellence in Community Support is eWorks, a national, top-tier IT asset and electronics recycling business providing comprehensive solutions for retired assets. Their mission includes enriching the lives of people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.
Excellence in Sustainability - Chem-Plate Ind.
Chem-Plate Industries was recognized for Excellence in Sustainability. Accepting this award on behalf of the company is CEO Martin Strauss. Chem-Plate has invested in the latest technology that meets the highest international standards for zero waste and is environmentally friendly. In 2006, it won an award from the EPA for most valuable pollution-prevention technology.
Excellence in Innovation - Jarvis Lighting
Jarvis Lightning is an LED lighting manufacturer. Although much of its manufacturing takes place overseas, the company has implemented lean manufacturing to keep production here in Elk Grove. Jarvis Lighting was mentioned in Assembly Magazine on its investment into employees' ideas along with continuous improvement has kept the business both profitable and local.
